Mission statement – A bright future for all

Our vision

Not Just Talking is dedicated to raising awareness of the importance of non-verbal skills in communication by offering training and information to parents and professionals.

By publishing books about the role of non-verbal skills in communication, Not Just Talking aims to help families of babies and toddlers give their children the best start to communication and avoid later behavioural problems.

By publishing guidance and providing training for professionals to assess and deliver effective intervention we aim to reduce the problems arising from poor non-verbal skill development in children.

We also aim to publish information and provide advice to enable parents/carers to support school-age children and young adults should they already display problems with communication. encourage good practice.

Our values

  • Every child matters - the child is central to our practice and we believe that every child can be helped to communicate more effectively.
  • Honesty and integrity - we do what we say we will do.
  • We believe passionately in what we do – helping to change lives for the better by enabling children to communicate more effectively.
  • We believe in supporting and working in partnership with parents, carers, education, social service and healthcare professionals to improve the skills and lives of children with communication problems and the lives of their families/carers.
  • We aim for simplicity – our training packages are simple and highly effective.
