Training – supporting parents and professionals

Not Just Talking offers a unique range of services dedicated to preventing non-verbal communication problems in children.

We offer training courses for parents/carers and also for professionals. We provide the total solution whether you just want to raise your awareness of non-verbal communication or you specifically want training in our techniques. Our training packages are tailored to meet the needs of the group so we do not publish costs on-line.

We have training leaflets which outline suggested training packages and associated costs. However because our training is tailored to meet the needs of the group costs will vary. If you are interested in receiving these please complete the Request information form.

For new parents our training is designed to help you give your baby the best start in life.
You will:
- understand what non-verbal communication is and why it's important, and
- learn practical steps for developing your child's non-verbal skills - from day one.

For parents of children with non verbal communication problems training is designed to enable you to support your child.
You will:
- understand what non-verbal communication is and why it's important,
- learn effective strategies for supporting your child day to day, and
- learn practical ways of helping them develop the skills that are missing.

For professionals working with parents and/or children we offer training in our unique assessment and intervention methods.
You will:
- learn to identify non-verbal strengths and weaknesses,
- understand how to help support the child effectively at home, school and/or with other services,
- develop tailored intervention to meet the individual’s needs and maximise the effectiveness of each session – within six to twelve half hour sessions you will see a positive difference in the child’s communication and behaviour.

Training packages and costs vary according to the needs of individuals and the size of the groups.
